इटलीमध्ये कोरोनाचा तांडव; २४ तासांत १००० जणांचा मृत्यू

रोम, २८ मार्च: जगभरात करोनाचा प्रादुर्भाव वाढत असून रुग्णांची व मृतांची संख्या वाढतच आहे. करोना विषाणूचा संसर्ग आतापर्यंत १९५ देशांत पसरला असून पाच लाख नागरिकांना याची लागण झाली आहे. २६ हजारांपेक्षा आधिक नागरिकांचा या महामारीनं बळी घेतला आहे. चीनच्या वुहान या शहरातून उद्भवलेल्या या कोरोना विषाणूने इटलीत हाहाकार माजवला आहे. इटलीत चीनपेक्षाही सर्वाधिक मृतांची नोंद झाली आहे.

कोरोना विषाणूच्या विळख्यात सापडलेल्या इटलीमध्ये मृत्यूचं अक्षरश: तांडव सुरु आहे. शुक्रवारी एका दिवसांत मृतांचा आकडा जवळपास हजाराला टेकला. एएफपीच्या वृत्तानुसार, इटलीत मागील २४ तासांत कोरोना विषाणूने तब्बल ९६९ जणांचा बळी घेतला आहे. आतापर्यंत एका दिवसातील हा मृतांचा सर्वाधिक आकडा आहे. यापूर्वी इटलीत २१ मार्चला सर्वाधिक ७९३ लोकांचा एकाच दिवशी मृत्यू झाल्याची घटना घडली होती. कोरोना विषाणूची लागण झालेला आकड्या ८० हजार पेक्षा अधिक असून यातील ८ हजारहून अधिक लोकांनी आपला जीव गमावला आहे.

ताज्या आकडेवारीनुसार, शुक्रवारी इटलीमध्ये मृत्यूंच्या संख्येत वाढ झाली आहे. आतापर्यंत एकाच दिवसात ९७० लोकांचा मृत्यू झाला आहे. यामुळे युरोपियन देशात मृतांचा आकडा ९१३४ वर गेला आहे. तसेच ८६,४९८ लोक कोरोना पॉझिटिव्ह आढळले आहेत, तर केवळ १०,९५० लोक बरे झाले आहेत. या आठवड्यात दोनदा आकडेवारी कमी झाल्याने देशातील वैद्यकीय कर्मचारी काहीसे निश्चिंत आहेत, पण पुन्हा एकदा परिस्थिती विदारक बनली आहे. तथापि, संसर्गाचे प्रमाण मागील ८% वरून ७.४% पर्यंत खाली आले आहे.
